A Big New Yearâs Eve in a Plus-size Little Black Dress!
Well, it’s here. Another New Year’s Eve is upon us. And while a vast amount of people everywhere will include weight loss on their list of resolutions, here’s a big shout out to those of us who will choose to write “pursue good health†and “look fabulous every day†at the top of our lists instead.

This year, I think we should all be enormously confident in our personal beauty, no matter what size we are. We should claim our individual right to be sexy and stop-traffic stunning. For the full figured women among us especially, let’s wave good-bye to 2008 and start off 2009 with a once-a-year sexy, scintillating, New Year’s Eve Treat – the plus size little black dress.

The little black dress has held an honorable mention in many articles recently, which makes a ton of sense around the holidays. When it comes to full figured women, I think the public at large assumes that we’re supposed to be hidden behind some veil of layers and blazers and accessories – even on New Year’s Eve. It seems that we’re supposed to disguise ourselves to be something we aren’t and hide our collective, beautiful bodies. Why? Who knows. What is this national obsession with weight, and where did it come from? A mere century ago, full figured women were absolutely sought after and adored across the board.

Why not revive THAT obsession? (Especially since literally half of our nation’s women are size 16 or larger.) Let’s kick off 2009 with a BIG nod to our sexy, salacious, adorable bods and wrap them up like the gift they are. Wrap them in a short black silk A-line or a floor length, low cut little black wrap. From satin to chiffon, the plus size little black dress is the one wardrobe item that no woman should be without. At 9 a.m., cover it with a blazer and a pair of leggings, and at 9 p.m. rip that disguise off, Clark-Kent style, to reveal the fun risqué Wonder Woman hidden beneath. (Definitely add a pair of killer boots or platform heels for the final spicy touch for dancing the night away.)

The bottom line is this: Your bottom line is gorgeous, and NOTHING can make that untrue. Claim that and WEAR it everywhere you go. Make CONFIDENCE the very first thing you put on in the morning and the last thing you take off at night. That plus size little black dress can be the first gift you give YOURSELF for the New Year – one that celebrates the NEW you – confident, sexy, and head-turning. Now THERE’S a great resolution!
