voting in Australia, Belgium, should U.S. do the same?

in Australia and Belgium, citizens are legally required to cove in elections, would such a requirement be a good idea in the united states? what changes might take place if such a rule were in effect?

Australia and Belgium don’t have our Constitution or 306 million People. They probably don’t have 20+ million illegal residents either.
